The Two Storey Extension Story

Our client wanted to enlarge their existing home by adding a two storey extension to the rear of their property.

After all the design process had been done and we knew what the client wished us to do, then we began work.

First we had to remove the whole of the rear extended part of the house, including the flat roof, most of the ground floor walls and all rear windows and patio doors.

Once this had been done then we could start to add new block work to create new load bearing walls for the new extension, which in turn would create new internal walls for the new rooms.

Once the new block work is in place, the new exterior brick walls can be built and then the wooden structure for the new bayonet window can be constructed and scaffolding erected to enable the new roof to be built.

With the new roof on and the building now weather proof, the new windows and patio doors can be installed with the internal walls and doorways now able to be finished off.

With all the internal walls finished they can now be plaster boarded and the surfaces prepared for finishing off in the client's choice of colour before the new rooms can be equipped as necessary.
